Integration

Verify your Constant Contact audience before you send

Constant Contact stores contacts across lists, segments, and tags, and most imported rows count toward your account whether they ever engage or not. Verifying an export with Bounceless before you upload a file or hit send catches invalid addresses while they are still spreadsheet rows, not bounce events that already registered against your Constant Contact reputation.

How it works

Steps are sourced from Constant Contact's official documentation (reference) and have not yet been walked on a live Constant Contact account by a Bounceless team member — treat exact menu labels as indicative until this note is removed.

When to run it

Common questions

Does exporting contacts remove them from Constant Contact?

No. Constant Contact's export article states that exporting creates a backup copy without removing contacts from your account. Bounceless sits between export and re-import: you verify the backup file, then decide which rows to upload back or leave out — the platform still requires you to take any delete or unsubscribe actions yourself.

Do I need the Constant Contact API for this workflow?

No. The default path uses Upload from file and Export selection in the Contacts dashboard. Constant Contact does offer API import endpoints for developers, but this guide follows the CSV workflow documented in Help Center so marketing teams can run it without provisioning API credentials or writing integration code.

What if my export needs GDPR or CASL permission fields?

Constant Contact warns that permission status columns only appear in exports when Advanced Email Permissions are enabled before you export. Enable those permissions first if you rely on consent metadata, then export, verify deliverability in Bounceless separately, and re-import with the same field mappings Constant Contact expects.
