Integration
Verify your ActiveCampaign audience before you send
ActiveCampaign runs Lists, Campaigns, and Automations off the same contact record, so a bad address does not just bounce a send — it can trigger automations, skew lead scores, and sit in reporting as an active contact. Verifying a List with Bounceless before you import or re-send catches dead mailboxes and disposable addresses while they are still rows in a CSV, not contacts already wired into your account's workflows.
How it works
Steps are sourced from ActiveCampaign's official documentation (reference) and have not yet been walked on a live ActiveCampaign account by a Bounceless team member — treat exact menu labels as indicative until this note is removed.

Common questions
Does this integration require connecting the ActiveCampaign API?
No. The workflow is CSV-based: export a list from Contacts > Lists, verify it in Bounceless, then re-import the clean rows. That keeps your ActiveCampaign API URL and key out of the loop entirely, and it works the same way regardless of which ActiveCampaign plan you are on, since list export and CSV import are both built-in account features.
Should I delete invalid contacts or use the Exclusion list?
For most cleanup passes, importing invalid addresses as Excluded is the safer choice. The Exclusion list stops an address from receiving campaigns or automation emails across the whole account without touching its per-list subscription status or deleting the contact record, so you keep the history if you ever need to review it later.
Does ActiveCampaign's List Cleanup tool already do this?
Not the same job. ActiveCampaign's List Cleanup tool only exists on accounts created before February 22, 2022, and it removes contacts by list status or a manual email list, which is reactive housekeeping. Bounceless verification happens before you import or re-send, catching addresses that would bounce rather than cleaning up after they already have.
