Integration

Verify your Campaign Monitor audience before you send

Campaign Monitor tracks subscribers per list with Active, Unsubscribed, and Bounced states, but a bounced address only appears after a send has already failed against your domain. Verifying a list export with Bounceless before you import or email catches invalid and risky addresses while they are still rows in a CSV, not complaints logged after a campaign goes out.

How it works

Steps are sourced from Campaign Monitor's official documentation (reference) and have not yet been walked on a live Campaign Monitor account by a Bounceless team member — treat exact menu labels as indicative until this note is removed.

When to run it

Common questions

Does Campaign Monitor already remove bounced subscribers automatically?

Campaign Monitor marks addresses as Bounced after a failed delivery, and its migration docs recommend exporting those bounces into a suppression list before importing fresh subscribers. That protection is reactive — the bounce already happened. Bounceless checks addresses before you send or import, so fewer rows ever reach the Bounced state in the first place.

Do I need Campaign Monitor API access for this workflow?

No. This guide uses the dashboard export and import flows documented in Campaign Monitor Help. You export a list as CSV, verify it in Bounceless, then re-import the cleaned file through the same UI your team already uses for list maintenance — no API keys or custom integration code required on either side.

Can I export just a segment instead of the full list?

Yes. Campaign Monitor lets you build segments and export them with the Export segment action next to the segment search box. Export that segment CSV, verify it in Bounceless, and re-import the clean rows into the parent list before a targeted send instead of cleaning the entire list at once.
